Trincomalee War Cemetery is one of Sri Lanka's six Commonwealth cemeteries, in good condition to honor soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. White headstones are arranged in lines, with nicely maintained gardens on either side, providing a peaceful and reflective environment. It is a somber but rewarding place to visit, providing historical insight as well as a means to show respects.
Cycling along the rural side of Trincomalee is the best way to experience local life. Cycle past paddy fields, villages, and coastal fishing villages, meeting friendly locals on the way. It's a mix of adventure, nature, and culture all in one activity.
