Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is home to many elephants that have lost their mothers and injured or lost in the jungle. Today the place provides a safe home to over 80 elephants until they are ready to release to the wild to live on their own. Make sure you visit the place during their bath time in the morning or in the evening.
See elephants being bathed in the river daily, a fun and educational experience. It is a memorable experience to witness the large animals playing in the water and an excellent opportunity for photography while learning about their care and natural behavior.
