Surrounded by Mahaveli river from 3 sides, Peradeniya Botanical garden is one of the top botanical gardens in Sri Lanka that attracts visitors in thousands every year. Opened in 1371 the garden has a large collection of tropical plants and flowers making it the perfect place to enjoy nature in Kandy.
Set on more than 60 hectares beside the Mahaweli River, these gardens boast an spectacular exhibit of tropical plants, orchids, palms and medicinal herbs. Visitors may wander among the manicured gardens, take a boat ride or simply unwind and enjoy the natural landscaping.
