Gal- Potha Stone book is a large stone inscription that belongs to the Polonnaruwa period. Consists of 03 main sections, the inscription is located in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Installed by King Nishshankamalla, the inscription includes details about the efforts of king Nishshankamalla towards the country and Buddhism. It also reveals interesting information about Mihinthalaya which is 50km away. The inscription is the size of 26 ft and 10 inches in length and 4 ft and 7 inches in width. The swan decorations carved around the inscription as a border is interesting details that showcase the attention to details of the ancient stoneworkers.
